The Rotational OT program:
Our Occupational Therapy service based out of Launceston comprises over 40 wonderful people delivering services across acute, sub-acute and the northern Tasmanian community.
Our rotational program offers early career occupational therapists solid foundational practice skills and the valuable opportunity to gain hospital experience in acute medicine, general surgery & trauma, stroke & other acute specialities, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, and home-based services in the community. You will be welcomed by peers from all over Australia who now call Launceston home. We’ll look after you from the very beginning, ensure you are fully inducted and set up to thrive. You will be supported in your professional growth with high quality clinical supervision, regular professional development and daily access to senior occupational therapists and OT clinical leads to nurture and mentor you as you consolidate your skills. Attention to your well-being and work-life balance is our priority.
Our rotational program is designed to support your learning by offering:
* Rotations which are currently 4 months long and offered in a variety of clinical areas including: acute medicine, general surgery & trauma, stroke & other acute specialities, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, and home-based services in the community.
* 1:1 supervision from our experienced and supervision trained Senior OTs or Clinical Leads in each rotation including protected time for formal supervision and informal day-to-day supervision and support.
* Weekly in-service program.
* Weekly tutorial program aimed at early career OTs (topics such as wheelchair prescription, upper limb assessment, Traumatic Brain Injury assessment, neuro-screen, home modifications etc.).
* Workplace that supports OTs relocating through relocation assistance, a welcoming team, and social committee.
Details of appointment:
Permanent, day worker, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as we can onboard you. Part-time hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Note: Position Features: Home visits and travel between sites in the North of Tasmania may be required. Shift work, extended hours and/or occasional weekend work may also be required. Contact us for more information.
Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.
