Overview
New Lambton South Public School is seeking a part-time School Crossing Supervisor. The role supports safety for students, parents, teachers and local motorists on school streets in Newcastle, NSW.
Responsibilities
* Supervise the school crossing during designated times to help ensure children's safety on roads around the school.
* Be a reliable, visible presence in all weather, contributing to a positive community safety outcome.
* Engage with students, parents and school staff to support safe behaviours around the school zone.
Work Schedule
Shifts fall between the school zone hours of 8:15 – 9:15 AM and 2:30 – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday. The role requires approximately 20 hours of supervising per fortnight.
Compensation and Benefits
* Hourly rate: $26.43 (plus superannuation).
* Compensation during school holidays from Terms 1 to 3.
* Uniforms and training provided.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
* Reliable, community-minded person with effective communication skills and alertness to potential dangers.
* Willingness to obtain / provide Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check, and Health Assessment as part of the recruitment process. If you already have a Working with Children Check, it may speed up the process.
Additional Information
* This is an in-person, on-site role.
* All training, uniforms and equipment will be provided.
