Located in Head Office in Mascot, Sydney, an opportunity exists for a suitably qualified individual to join the Flight Operations Engineering Department as a Flight Operations Technical Assistant in full-time capacity.
**Reporting**:
This position reports to the Manager Flight Operations Engineering.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist with the generation and maintenance of Company flight plans, MET/NOTAM briefings and amendments of the Company Flight Planning, Route, and Performance Manuals.
- Assist with the generation of aircraft Performance Data/Charts and OEI departure procedure design.
- Amendment and distribution of navigation data for all company aircraft.
- Assist with the collation and maintenance of the Company's obstacle data.
- Liaise with airport owners and authorities on operational matters.
- Assist with the conduct of performance, weight and balance training as part of pilot training.
- Maintain department technical records and complete data validation.
- Develop systems to collate and analyse data analysis, report and make recommendations to appropriate Managers in the Flight Operations.

**Preferred Selection Criteria**:
- Higher School certificate or equivalent.
- PPL or higher, alternately Aeronautical Engineering Degree, or Aircraft Performance Engineering experience.
- A high level of computer literacy, particularly advance skills in the use of spreadsheet software.
- Ability to undertake technical tasks and duties in an efficient and professional manner.
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to direct and liaise with departmental personnel.
- Ability to liaise with external organisations, Company and Flight Operations management personnel.
- A good level of understanding of the operational aspects of an RPT airline.
- High level of analytical acumen and business experience.
- Good communication and time management skills.
**Desirable Selection Criteria**:
- Understanding of CAD
- OEI procedure design experience IAW CASR MOS 121.
- CPL or higher with Command Instrument Rating theory.
- Understanding of ATPL Performance and Loading.
- Experience in high capacity RPT operations
This position involves being on call outside of normal working hours in order to meet operational needs. Some travel will be required.
