**Your Role**:
As a Principal Program Officer in the Early Childhood Programs and Innovation unit you will be responsible for the design and delivery of programs, strategy and initiatives aimed at creating higher quality, more equitable and inclusive early childhood programs across birth to eight in formal and informal education settings.
You must be highly organised, agile, able to manage competing priorities and expectations and also have the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with regional stakeholders.
You will be required to think creatively, research and analyse issues and synthesise complex information into clear outputs to make informed recommendations to senior and executive management, often under tight timeframes.
**As the Principal Program Officer, you will**:
- Research, develop, plan, implement, analyse and evaluate projects and programs.
- Manage a suite of projects to ensure the strategic aims and objectives of the department and the Government are achieved.
- Design, plan and review programs and strategies for the provision of early childhood education and care initiatives in Queensland.
- Develop and maintain effective linkages with:
- Regional staff to ensure that policies and programs reflect the identified needs and issues and that programs/services are delivered effectively.
- Other work areas to ensure policies and program proposals are consistent with departmental objectives.
- Other departments and non-government organisations to ensure departmental policies and proposals are consistent with program objectives and the whole of government approach to early childhood education and care.
- Implement effective project management strategies to ensure outcomes are delivered in a timely and effective manner.
**About You**:
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of school and kindergarten contexts
- Demonstrated ability in successfully leading projects and teams
- Understanding of the Australian Curriculum and Queensland kindergarten learning guideline
- Experience in building strong relationships
- Availability to undertake travel throughout Queensland
