Position Profile:
The Patient Transport Communications Officer will receive and progress all incoming patient transport services bookings, answer and follow up general inquiries with a patient-oriented focus. The role is required to monitor and respond to changes in patient transport bookings in relation to changes in clinical priority of patients and resultant urgency and transport/resourcing requirements. This role will involve shift work on a rotating 24/7 roster.
ABOUT THE PATIENT TRANSPORT COORDINATION HUB (PaTCH)
The Patient Transport Coordination Hub (PaTCH) is an initiative of the State Health Operations Centre (SHOC) to coordinate bookings, scheduling and allocation of non-emergency patient transport in metropolitan WA. The aim of this centralised service is to improve the patient experience, minimise the use of emergency ambulances for non-emergency transport, enhance patient flow and improve the efficiency of our health system.
PaTCH aims to foster a culture of collaboration and transparency between transport providers and Health Service Providers (HSPs) that focusses on providing the best patient experience. It will do this by matching a patient’s transport requirements with the most suitable and available transport provider so that patients receive the most appropriate, safe and efficient transport based on their individual needs.
