Job Title: System Architect
As a seasoned IT professional, you will be responsible for designing and defining system architecture for new or existing computer systems. Your primary objective will be to maintain an organization's computer systems' workflows and ensure the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience in troubleshooting moderately complex system hardware and software issues. You will also provide technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
* System Design and Architecture: Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems.
* Workflow Management: Maintains an organization's computer systems' workflows and is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems.
* Technical Support: Provides technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
* Troubleshooting: Troubleshoots moderately complex system hardware and software issues.
* Training and Development: Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software.
Responsibilities include:
1. Software Installation and Upgrades: Performing software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
2. System Performance and Tuning: Monitoring and tuning systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
3. Data Integrity: Ensuring workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions.
4. Backup and Recovery: Ensuring data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
5. Audits and Compliance: Conducting hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
6. Security and Performance: Ensuring that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users.
7. Long-term Strategies: May evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategies.
8. Professional Development: May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.
