Two full time ongoing vacancies are available for the following roles at Katherine Hospital, Katherine, Northern Territory: Clinical Pharmacist (P2 ongoing) and Pharmacy Services Manager (SP1 ongoing). Selection will be at the P2 or SP1 level depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.

Katherine District Hospital is an accredited 60-bed non-specialist medical, diagnostic and treatment facility serving Katherine and the Big Rivers Region. The hospital is accredited with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and seeks to provide high-quality, culturally appropriate care.
Responsibilities
* Clinical Pharmacist (P2 ongoing) – Provide pharmaceutical services to Katherine Hospital clients and staff, including in-patient and out-patient dispensing, clinical services, and supervision of technical staff in line with Medicines, Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act and Health Practices Act. Provide culturally appropriate drug information and education to patients and healthcare professionals. Travel to remote communities in the Big River Region by car, 4WD or light aircraft as required.
* Pharmacy Services Manager (SP1 ongoing) – Lead, manage and develop the pharmacy services at Katherine Hospital; ensure delivery of high-quality, culturally appropriate and effective pharmacy advisory and distribution services. Provide professional leadership, supervision and consultancy across the Big Rivers Region and promote best practice in pharmacy care.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Australian tertiary qualification in Pharmacy with eligibility for registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
* Post-graduate experience delivering clinical pharmacy services.
* High-level written and oral communication skills.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, family and community structures; ability to communicate and work in a culturally safe manner.
Remuneration and Benefits
Remuneration package ranges include:
* Professional 2 – $106,626 to $126,803 (including salary $90,204 to $107,554)
* Senior Professional Officer 1 – $151,221 to $168,735 (including salary $128,551 to $143,611)
Benefits may include 12% Superannuation, 6 weeks recreational leave, 3 weeks personal leave, 17.5% leave loading, and opportunities for professional development and career progression.
Location and context
The Top End of the Northern Territory offers diverse medicine, with Katherine near Kakadu, Litchfield National Parks and other regional attractions. Relocation assistance may be available to successful applicants. Katherine has a population of about 11,000; the Big Rivers Region has about 22,000 residents and covers a large geographic area.
