What is a Painting Apprenticeship? 
Kickstart your career in Painting with Inner West Council. This hands-on role lets you earn while you learn, gaining valuable skills while completing a Certificate III in Painting and Decorating. Over the next 36-48 months, you’ll be part of a fully supported program that combines on-the-job training with online study and workplace-based assessments. Guided by a clear training plan, you’ll work towards key competencies, complete assessments, and track your progress as you grow your career. 
You’ll work alongside qualified painters, learning techniques such as surface preparation, colour matching, finishing, and the safe use of tools and materials. You’ll contribute to projects that keep Council’s facilities and community spaces looking their best, while building practical skills that will set you up for a successful trade career. Safety, quality, and pride in your work are at the heart of everything we do.

From $827.40 per week + 12% superannuation 
Responsibilities and qualifications 
- Commitment and capacity to attain the Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (CPC30620) through formal apprenticeship program 
- Genuine interest in developing trade skills in painting, decorating and surface preparation 
- Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and contribute to a safe and respectful environment 
- Physical ability to undertake manual tasks associated with painting and decorating 
- NSW Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
