Domestic Animal Services is seeking an experienced Veterinary Officer to lead the delivery of high‑quality veterinary care for dogs (and occasionally cats) at our Symonston facility. This is a hands‑on role providing health assessments, treatment, vaccination, de‑sexing, and behavioural evaluation, including working confidently with dangerous or aggressive dogs to ensure their welfare needs are met. This role requires someone with excellent judgement, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment. You will contribute to strategic improvements, supervise staff, maintain accurate clinical and case records, and provide veterinary advice to government stakeholders. The position may involve exposure to sensitive or distressing situations, requiring resilience and professionalism. Eligibility/Other requirements: Tertiary qualifications in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent are required.
