About The Opportunity
The primary purpose of this position is to operate excavators across multiple civil projects with precision, efficiency, and safety, delivering high-quality results.
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
* Operating excavators (5–30 tonne) with a strong focus on final trim work using GPS systems
* Reading and interpreting site plans and drawings
* Performing detailed earthworks, trenching, and grading to precise specifications
* Conducting pre-start checks and basic machine maintenance
* Collaborating with supervisors and crew to meet project deadlines and quality standards
* Ensuring compliance with WHS standards and maintaining a clean, safe worksite
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* Proven experience as a final trim excavator operator in civil construction
* Strong competency with GPS systems for fine grading
* Experience with stormwater installation
* Strong focus on detail, safety, and quality outcomes
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
You will also have:
* Excavator ticket and White Card
* Valid driver's licence
* HR licence and/or other relevant tickets desirable
