About the Organisation

The Environment Protection Authority works to prevent and reduce pollution's harmful effects on Victoria's environment and people. We work with community, industry, and businesses. To adapt to changing needs, we must be equipped to respond to various factors.

We are a workplace committed to new ways of working. EPA celebrates diversity of people and lifestyles. We offer practical options to support both your work and personal life.

Key Features:

* You see your work's impact in the communities you live in: at EPA you experience it firsthand
* Range of internal working groups, networks, and volunteering opportunities
* On-the-job training for a wide range of environmental roles
* Flexible start and finish times, as well as compressed work week options

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of the EPA as it enters a new era of environmental protection in Victoria. Working under the direction of the Team Leader, Complex Approvals, you will actively contribute to a positive organisational culture and achieve high standards of performance and integrity; fostering genuine partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and community to deliver organisational outcomes.

In this role, you will:

1. Support the implementation of EPA's permissioning framework to ensure that scheduled activities, infrastructure, and other development projects are appropriately authorised under the Environment Protection Act 2017.
2. Assess and issue development licences for designated complex projects that authorise capital works and the commissioning of a plant or premises, ensuring that licence conditions set appropriate control.
3. As required based on prioritised demand, issue operating licences and pilot project licences; issue permits; and appoint accredited consignors; support the periodic review of licences and the development and maintenance of EPA's condition library for permissions.

Required skills and qualifications:

* Knowledge of the Environment Protection Act 2017 and regulations.
* Experience in permissioning, preferably within Government.
* A proven record of achievement in a similar role which contributes to organisational excellence, high standards of performance, and a positive organisational culture.

Benefits:

* See the impact of your work in the communities you live in
* Opportunities for professional growth and development
* Flexible work arrangements to suit your needs

Organisational information:
