About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of the EPA as it enters a new era of environmental protection in Victoria. Working under the direction of the Team Leader, Complex Approvals, you will actively contribute to a positive organisational culture and achieve high standards of performance and integrity; fostering genuine partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and community to deliver organisational outcomes.
In this role, you will:
1. Support the implementation of EPA's permissioning framework to ensure that scheduled activities, infrastructure, and other development projects are appropriately authorised under the Environment Protection Act 2017.
2. Assess and issue development licences for designated complex projects that authorise capital works and the commissioning of a plant or premises, ensuring that licence conditions set appropriate control.
3. As required based on prioritised demand, issue operating licences and pilot project licences; issue permits; and appoint accredited consignors; support the periodic review of licences and the development and maintenance of EPA's condition library for permissions.
Required skills and qualifications:
* Knowledge of the Environment Protection Act 2017 and regulations.
* Experience in permissioning, preferably within Government.
* A proven record of achievement in a similar role which contributes to organisational excellence, high standards of performance, and a positive organisational culture.
