Who are we?
Argoweld is a small yet mighty fabrication and maintenance workshop based in the Gawler Belt, with over 40 years behind us and a strong pipeline of ongoing work.
What do we do? Honestly … a bit of everything. And that's what we love about it.
One day we're repairing a truck body that's seen better days.
The next we're troubleshooting a hydraulic system on a piece of agricultural machinery.
The day after that? Custom fabrication, structural welding, mechanical repairs, or fitting new gearboxes.
That variety is what keeps the work interesting. It means the role requires solid trade experience, good judgement and the ability to think jobs through properly.
We're looking for an experienced boilermaker. You're expected to bring strong trade skills. What comes with time is familiarity with our jobs and how we run them. And that's where asking questions and leaning on the team is essential and encouraged.
About the role
This role is for an experienced boilermaker who enjoys variety and figuring out how to tackle different jobs, not just running the same welds day after day.
You'll be:
* Fabricating and welding structural steel, truck and trailer mods, machinery parts and more
* Working off drawings. These are sometimes detailed, sometimes sketched on the back of an envelope
* Repairing, modifying, building. You will be making things fit and to last
* Running your own jobs and working toward a finished result
* Trusted to work independently, with the backing of an experienced crew when needed
Who makes someone a good fit at Argoweld?
* Enjoys variety and thinks through how to approach different jobs, rather than doing the same thing every day
* Takes pride in a job done properly, not just "good enough"
* Values an organised tidy workspace
* Is comfortable working in a small team where effort, attitude and quality show
* Knows when to have a laugh, and when it's time to focus and get stuck in
* Is looking for steady work and wants to be part of a team that takes pride in how it operates
Must haves
* Minimum 5 years' solid experience as a trade-qualified boilermaker
* (this role does not suit someone straight out of their apprenticeship)
* Strong welding skills across MIG, TIG and stick, including aluminium
* Able to read drawings, think through jobs and make sound decisions on the tools
* Current driver's licence
* Comfortable recording work in a job system
* Forklift licence desirable but not essential
So why join us?
* Work close to home at our Gawler Belt workshop
* Small team, experienced trades. You will be trusted to get on with the job, no micromanaging
* Varied work that keeps you engaged and using your skills
* Clean, organised and well-equipped workshop
* Steady, ongoing work in a business that's been around a long time
