Our team focuses on recovery and functional restoration to help clients return to work and daily life, regardless of their age, stage, or situation. We provide services through federal and state-based Workers Compensation schemes, Motor Accident Schemes, and Life Insurance. Acumen Health is Australia's exclusive provider of Occupational Rehabilitation services to the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
Position: ADF Rehabilitation Consultant
In this role, you will utilize your clinical reasoning skills to support ADF personnel with physical and/or psychological injuries. This position offers meaningful and purposeful rewards. Join us in preparing our military personnel to be fully fit and ready to defend Australia.
Key Responsibilities
1. Adopt a holistic care approach within a multidisciplinary team to support rehabilitation and recovery.
2. Conduct various assessments based on your clinical expertise, such as functional capacity evaluations, ergonomic assessments, or activities of daily living assessments.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders including injured employees, medical specialists, treatment providers, and allied health professionals.
4. Develop, implement, and monitor tailored rehabilitation plans.
Our KPIs are based on service delivery outcomes, emphasizing a genuine person-centered focus and goal setting, not billable hours.
Work Environment & Benefits
Enjoy work hours that promote work/life balance—no overtime or after-hours work. Our schedule is from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30 am to 1:30 pm on Friday, located at RAAF Base Townsville in the Townsville Health Centre.
You will receive support and mentorship through comprehensive onboarding and ongoing shadowing to enhance your skills and set you up for success.

Qualifications & Skills
* Current unrestricted registration or membership with relevant industry bodies (AHPRA, ESSA, ASORC/RCAA, or AASW).
* Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Nursing, Osteopathy, or Social Work.
* Australian Citizenship.
* Strong clinical reasoning skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
* Passion for helping people rehabilitate.
* Occupational rehabilitation experience is highly regarded.
