About the Role


Located in Cambridge, Southern Tasmania, this permanent full time Trade Assistant position offers the opportunity to work under the guidance of experienced tradespeople, gaining hands-on experience across a broad range of equipment, including:

* Heavy diesel trucks and vehicles
* Mobile plant and machinery
* Emergency service operations.

You will learn to

* Assist with design, build, maintenance and repairs
* Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical faults
* Use tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop systems safely
* Follow workplace safety, quality, and environmental procedures
* Develop skills across multiple disciplines

Who Should Apply

We welcome applications from:

* School leavers or young apprentices
* Mature-aged apprentices
* Fully qualified tradespeople (e.g. Light Vehicle, Automotive, Auto Electrical) looking to complete a second trade
* Anyone with a genuine interest in Vehicle Fabrication.

About You

* Have a genuine interest in heavy diesel and machinery
* Strong work ethic and positive attitude
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Previous experience is an advantage but not essential
* Current manual driver's licence (or working towards)


Desirable Requirements

* A current unrestricted Drivers Licence.
* Forklift licence.
* Medium / Heavy Vehicle Licence.
* Practical experience working within the automotive industry.

* Sexual offences;
* Dishonesty (e.g. theft, burglary, breaking and entering, fraud);
* Deception (e.g. obtaining an advantage by deception);
* Making false declarations;
* Violent crimes and crimes against the person;
* Malicious damage and destruction to property
* Trafficking of narcotic substance;
* False alarm raising.
