Gateway Health is a community health service providing health and welfare services to individuals, families and communities across north east Victoria and parts of southern New south Wales. ABOUT THE ROLE
HIPPY (Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngster) is an early childhood enrichment program that works with parents of young children in disadvantaged communities. Through regular home visiting and group activities over a two-year period, parents are provided with the materials, skills and confidence to enable them to help better their children prepare for a successful start to school life.
The focus of this position is to work within our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and local multicultural community.
You will be required to work Wednesdays to Fridays, 9.30am-2.30pm.
ABOUT YOU
To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we're looking for someone who has the following skills and experiences:
* Commitment to the HIPPY program with your own child/or with a child you have regular contact with over the two years of the program OR have completed the HIPPY program
* Known in the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and/or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse community.
* Interest and enthusiasm in supporting families and ability to relate to people from within the local community.
* Basic literacy in English including reading and writing.
