Project Engineer Role Overview

Job Responsibilities:
* Assist with preparation and submission of tenders from initial assessment to final submission and award.
* Analyze and interpret tender documents, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
* Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and develop cost estimates for labor, materials, and subcontractor services.
* Identify project risks, constraints, and opportunities to optimize tender proposals.
* Develop and maintain an up-to-date estimation database to improve accuracy and efficiency in cost forecasting.
* Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, procurement, and operations, to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
* Work with the Procurement team to request quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
* Review and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring best pricing and supply reliability.
* Set up job budgets upon successful award of tenders, ensuring alignment with project financial targets.
* Assist project managers in cost tracking and forecasting to maintain budgetary control.
* Work closely with the finance team to provide accurate cost breakdowns and reporting.
* Assist in project start-up activities, including scope review, procurement planning, and resource allocation.
* Contribute to the development of construction methodologies and project execution plans to ensure efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
* Support site teams with technical and cost-related insights to improve project delivery.
* Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to refine project estimates and execution strategies.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* Previous experience in a similar role.
* Good communication skills.
