Where You'll Be Working
You'll be joining the Clinical Coding team at John Hunter Hospital, the largest hospital within Hunter New England Local Health District and a major tertiary referral centre servicing a diverse and complex casemix. This role supports the SDPR–EPIC rollout across NSW Health. You'll work alongside a dedicated, high-performing team of Clinical Coders, Educators, Auditors and Managers who are committed to quality, collaboration and continuous improvement.
About The Role
As a Clinical Coding Educator / Auditor, you will play a vital role in developing and supporting the future clinical coding workforce across HNELHD. Your day-to-day work will be varied and meaningful, combining education, mentoring and auditing within a complex tertiary casemix.
Responsibilities
* Educating, mentoring and supporting trainee and junior clinical coders
* Conducting clinical coding audits to ensure accuracy, compliance and quality
* Providing feedback and guidance to improve coding performance
* Contributing to workforce development initiatives and quality improvement activities
* Working closely with senior coding staff and management to support service priorities
About You
We are looking for an experienced and motivated clinical coding professional who enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting others to succeed.
* Demonstrated experience mentoring and/or training clinical coders
* Experience conducting clinical coding audits
* Extensive clinical coding experience across a varied and complex casemix
* Recent Australian clinical coding experience
