Lead and support complex procurement to drive strong, value‑for‑money outcomes

This Federal Government agency is seeking experienced procurement professionals to contribute to high‑quality governance, strong probity practices and value‑for‑money outcomes. Working in a collaborative and capability‑focused environment, you will support enterprise‑wide procurement activities and play a key role in enhancing procurement maturity across the organisation.
Your new role
Multiple opportunities are available across the procurement function at the APS6 and EL1 level. These roles offer the chance to influence agency‑wide procurement outcomes, partner with senior stakeholders, and improve procurement capability within a high-performing public sector environment.
As the EL1 Director, Procurement, you will:
* Lead and maintain the agency’s procurement and contract management framework.
* Provide strategic, enterprise-level procurement advice on complex, high‑risk and high‑value activities.
* Oversee procurement governance, probity, risk management and compliance.
* Build organisational procurement capability through mentoring, education and guidance.
* Manage reporting obligations, including procurement data, panels and contract management arrangements.
* Represent the agency in procurement forums and communities of practice.
As the APS6 Procurement Manager, you will:
* Provide specialist, practical advice across a broad range of procurement activities.
* Ensure procurement activities align with governance, probity and legislative requirements.
* Assist with the development and maintenance of procurement documentation, templates and frameworks.
* Support contract management system administration and financial management processes.
* Coordinate procurement reporting including AusTender, Senate Orders and annual plans.
* Contribute to procurement policy development, training and continuous improvement activities.

* Proven experience within Australian Government procurement.
* Strong knowledge of procurement legislation, frameworks and the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
* The ability to analyse complex issues, anticipate risks and contribute to evidence‑based solutions.
* High‑level written and verbal communication skills, including preparing procurement documentation, briefs and reports.
* The ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and influence decision‑making with confidence.
* Integrity, professionalism and resilience in a dynamic environment.
* A Certificate IV or Diploma in Procurement & Contracting (highly desirable).
