An established and growing ASX-listed organisation is seeking a commercially astute, technically exceptional payroll leader to strengthen governance and lead payroll transformation across a complex operating environment. This is not a transactional payroll role, this is a leadership and credibility mandate.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will take ownership of a multi-entity payroll function for 3000 employees.
You will lead an existing team of 6 and be responsible for:
* Rebuilding trust and confidence in the payroll function
* Strengthening governance, compliance and legislative integrity
* Leading system optimisation across UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group)
* Improving employee experience and response times
* Supporting growth through future acquisitions
This organisation operates across modern awards and requires deep legislative expertise, precision and confidence navigating complex pay structures.
What We’re Looking For
You will be a senior payroll professional who is:
* Technically strong across Australian payroll legislation and awards
* Experienced in leading payroll transformation or remediation programs
* Confident presenting to ELT and influencing senior stakeholders
* Highly solutions-focused, with the ability to diagnose & resolve issues
* Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
* A strong people leader who drives accountability and service standards
* Experienced with UKG (highly regarded) or comparable enterprise payroll systems
This role requires a leader who is hands-on when required but strategic in mindset.

Hybrid working (1 day per week WFH). Some flexibility required around payroll cycles and occasional public holidays.
