Description
* Define the detailed electrical and electronics system architecture, ensuring alignment with cross‑functional practices, the purchasing organization, and the mechatronics architecture team.
* Design electronic and electrical system components, including control/command circuits, power electronics, power supplies, protections, and system interfaces.
* Develop electronic boards, covering schematics, PCB layout, component selection, and the creation/management of manufacturing files (Gerber, BOM, DRC).
* Plan, execute, and oversee testing and validation activities, including qualification campaigns and compliance documentation for environmental, EMI/EMC, and safety requirements.
* Prepare engineering documentation, such as calculation notes, reliability assessments (FMEA, MTBF), technical specifications, and detailed test plans.
* Lead project activities using both V‑model and Agile methodologies, including scheduling, cross-functional coordination, risk tracking, and progress reporting to leadership.
* Manage component sourcing and obsolescence, conducting supplier assessments, identifying equivalent parts, validating replacements, and optimizing BOMs for cost efficiency.
* Perform technical investigations (failure analysis, root cause assessment) and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
* Develop and validate FPGA/VHDL solutions for real‑time functionalities when needed.
* Collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, and software teams to ensure robust system integration across disciplines.
* Mentor junior engineers and serve as a technical reference within the team, with demonstrated potential to evolve into a team management role.
Profile
* Engineering degree in electronics, electrical engineering, automation or equivalent.
* 7+ years' experience in industrial electronic design (control systems and/or power electronics). Proven industrial experience strongly preferred.
* Experience managing projects (V-model and Agile methods) on complex programs.
* Electronic board design: schematic capture, PCB routing (e.g. Altium, Mentor, KiCad).
* Component selection and qualification, BOM management and DFM/DFMEA.
* Execution and supervision of qualification tests, test bench design, instrumentation.
* Writing calculation notes (power supplies, dissipation, protection sizing, thermal).
* Electronic/electrical system architecture and integration (PLC, sensors, actuators, I/O).
* VHDL and FPGA experience preferred.
* Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFD) and power electronics (inverters, DC-DC converters, MOSFET/IGBT).
* Familiarity with standards and compliance (EMC, machinery safety, CE, etc.).
* Reliability skills (FMEA, MTBF analysis) and continuous improvement mindset.
* Understanding of embedded / real-time software (interfaces with firmware, RTOS) is a plus.
