About the Role

As Corporate Governance Coordinator, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organisation's Corporate Governance Framework, ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory and policy requirements while promoting a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability. You will provide strategic governance and compliance advice to executive leaders, support informed decision making through the preparation of high-quality briefings, reports, and correspondence, and oversee governance processes that strengthen organisational effectiveness.

The role involves managing complex stakeholder enquiries, coordinating executive and ministerial correspondence, identifying and mitigating governance risks, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and health service providers. You will also lead governance capability building initiatives, support organisational improvement programs, and manage a high-performing team to deliver responsive, confidential, and professional administrative and governance services. Through a proactive and collaborative approach, you contribute to effective leadership, quality outcomes, and the delivery of safe, patient-centred healthcare services.

This is a Full Time Permanent role based in the Mid North Coast Local Health District, with offices in Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.

About You

You are an experienced governance and compliance professional with a strong track record of developing, implementing and continuously improving governance frameworks, policies, and compliance systems within complex organisational environments. With extensive experience providing strategic advice to senior executives and stakeholders, you have developed a comprehensive understanding of legislative requirements, regulatory obligations, and best practice public sector governance principles.

Your strengths lie in building collaborative relationships, influencing decision-making and driving organisational improvement through effective governance practices. You possess highly developed leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, enabling you to successfully consult, negotiate and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders across all levels of an organisation. You are skilled in analysing complex information, identifying risks and opportunities, and developing practical, evidence-based solutions that support organisational objectives and compliance requirements.

An accomplished communicator, you have extensive experience preparing high level reports, briefings, governance documentation and executive correspondence, and presenting complex information clearly and effectively to senior leadership audiences. You are committed to fostering a culture of integrity, accountability and continuous improvement, and thrive in dynamic environments that require sound judgement, strategic thinking and a proactive approach to governance and organisational performance.
