Internal Control Specialist Job
The Internal Control & Compliance Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the organization's governance, audit, and risk management objectives are met.
This position is responsible for evaluating and strengthening internal controls and processes, identifying operational and financial risks, and driving compliance across business functions.
* Support planning and execution of internal control requirements across multiple departments.
* Conduct comprehensive reviews of business processes to identify inefficiencies, risks, and control weaknesses.
* Develop and maintain step-by-step internal control process documentation for all departments.
* Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend actionable risk mitigation strategies.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement effective risk management initiatives.
* Perform post-implementation control Self-Assessment (CSA) walkthroughs to evaluate control design and operational effectiveness.
* Assist the Financial Controller and project lead in preparing progress reports and presenting key findings to senior leadership.
* Monitor adherence to internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of audit activities, findings, and follow-up actions.
* Contribute to the development and enhancement of audit tools, templates, and methodologies.
* Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory developments relevant to internal audit and compliance.
Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance (risk and compliance), Business, or a related field are required.
3-5 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or a related compliance role are preferred.
