Civil Construction Roles

Reports To: Site Supervisors & Management
About the Role
We're expanding our civil construction team and have multiple openings for skilled and reliable crew members. Whether you are a supervisor, operate heavy machinery, lay underground services, or assist with general site works, we want to hear from you. These roles are hands-on and vital to delivering quality infrastructure in our Townsville projects.
POSITIONS AVAILABLE
Key Responsibilities – but not limited to;
Machine Operators
· Operate excavators, loaders, rollers, and other plant equipment
· Conduct daily pre-start checks and maintain machinery
· Undertake bulk earthworks and site preparation, detailed excavation, pipe trenching, slab preparation
· Operation of machines with GPS is an advantage but not essential
· Undertaking of QA procedures including safety, quality, environmental checklists
Civil Pipelayers
· Install stormwater, sewer, and water mains
· Read and interpret plans and levels
· Work with laser levels and trench shields
· Ensure pipe alignment, bedding, and compaction meet standards
· Experience with manhole construction
· Confined space ticket requirements for pipelayers will be determined based on specific project requirements and work scope
Civil Labourers
· Support site setup, trenching, concreting, and backfilling
· Use hand and power tools safely
· Assist trades and operators as needed
· Maintain a clean and safe worksite
Skills & Qualifications
· Proven experience in relevant field (5+ years preferred)
· Minimum 2 years civil construction experience is essential
· Sound knowledge of materials, tools, and construction techniques
· Ability to read and interpret construction plans
· White Card (Construction Induction) – essential
· Current driver's licence and reliable transport
· Previous experience in civil construction (preferred)
· Relevant tickets: Excavator, Roller, Loader, Skid Steer, etc.
· Machine operators must hold multiple relevant tickets including excavator, roller, loader, or skid steer certifications
· Pipe laying experience and confined space ticket (for pipelayers)
· Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Safety-first Mindset
· Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
· All work rights in Australia are accepted for this position
· Applicants must hold permanent residency or citizenship in Australia
