NQ Vascular is seeking a Registered Nurse to specialise in the care of patients with vascular disease and disorders in our practice in Townsville, North Queensland. Along side the Surgeon and other healthcare professionals, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care of patients with these conditions. You will be responsible for assessing patients' conditions, administering medications, administering injections and sclerotherapy, educating patients on their condition and how to manage it, assisting with minor procedures, provide support for patients before and after surgery, monitoring their progress to ensure they are recovering properly, wound care and educating patients on healthy habits.
The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to provide the best possible nursing care. You will be kind, compassionate and empathetic. You will also be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently and work with minimal supervision. Immediate start available.

Responsibilities
Monitor patient's condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice
Observe and interpret patient's symptoms and communicate them to the Doctor
Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering medications, injections and sclerotherapy etc.) and completing accurate data into patients' charts
Adjust and administer patient's medication and provide treatments according to Doctor's orders
Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.)
Provide instant medical care in emergencies
Supervise and train LPNs and nursing assistants
Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational workshops, conferences etc.
Ordering and maintaining medical supplies
Requirements and skills
Proven experience as a registered nurse
Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
Excellent knowledge of emergency care
In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsible and compassionate
Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Bachelor of Nursing
