Job Description: Commercial Contracts Manager at OptusOptus is shaping its future by embracing new technology and innovation, embodying a challenger brand.Role Overview: Manage customer contracts for the Wholesale division and support the Optus Wholesale team.Key Responsibilities include:Contract governance, negotiation, and drafting: Implement and improve the Contract Governance Process, tracking contracts from draft request to post-signatory storage, ensuring compliance before contracts are signed by relevant teams and leaders.Legal support: Collaborate closely with the Legal team to provide first-level legal support to the Wholesale team.Credit, risk control, and dispute management: Minimize exposure to operational, legal, financial, and credit risks; prepare documentation for commercial dispute settlements.Contract management: Negotiate and draft customer contracts, including service notifications, variation agreements, promotion letters, and termination agreements, aligning with Sale Contracts Policy.Regulatory engagement: Work with Optus regulatory on strategic, operational, and technical regulatory issues.Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor to the Wholesale team.Your skills to succeed:Legal drafting experience, preferably with a legal academic backgroundExtensive experience in contract drafting, negotiation, legal, and compliance rolesAttention to detail, excellent communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to meet deadlines independentlyIndustry knowledge and business insightContract negotiation experience in a matrix environmentUnderstanding of telecommunications operations or wholesale environment (desirable)Perks at Optus:Flexible work arrangement: 3 days in-office, 2 days remoteInclusive parental leave: up to 16 weeks for primary caregiversAccess to resources, webinars, and support via ‘Parents at Work portal’Extensive online and facilitator-led learning opportunitiesColleague-led volunteer groups and vibrant campus facilitiesFree bus service from Macquarie University Metro StationWe value diversity and are committed to inclusive hiring.
