What You’ll Be Doing
Underwrite complex and diverse risks across Financial Lines, General Liability, Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers, and Management Liability.
Build strong, lasting relationships with brokers—leveraging your network and collaborating with the State Manager to grow our footprint.
Drive business growth through strategic marketing plans and broker engagement.
Deliver exceptional service standards with timely, high‑quality underwriting decisions.
Mentor and support junior underwriters and business support staff.
Promote and support the use of our digital platforms (SCTP and BindIT).
Contribute to innovation initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Collaborate on budgeting, planning, and strategic decision‑making.
The Candidate - Skills, Qualifications & Experience You’re a confident and experienced insurance professional with a passion for underwriting and broker engagement. You thrive in a fast‑paced environment, bring strong commercial acumen, and are ready to make an impact.
10+ years’ experience in underwriting and/or broking.
Strong knowledge of Financial Lines, Management Liability, D&O;, PI, and Public/Product Liability.
Proven success in business development and broker relationship management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
High numeracy and proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and standard business tools.
A risk‑aware mindset with a commercial edge.
Bonus Points For
Tertiary qualifications in insurance or a related field.
Current underwriting experience with an Australian‑based insurer.
