Senior Lawyer, Insurance AdvisoryAs a Senior Lawyer, your role entails providing high-quality legal and strategic advice with amercial perspective to support the interests of the Group. Your primary focus will be on themercial Insurance business, covering various aspects such as:
1. Draftingmercial Insurance Products
2. Insurance Product Distribution
3. Regulatorypliance
4. Contract Drafting and Review
What you'll do
Reporting to the Manager Legal, Insurance Advisory, your responsibilities will include:
5. Provision of legal advice in relation to development and administration of Insurance products (Inc. policy wording and PDS reviews, product development advice, statutory notices and disclosure)
6. Legal advice in respect of the distribution of Insurance products and partnering arrangements (Inc. broker and intermediary arrangements, and strategic partnerships)
7. Act as point of technical escalation for matters in your functional areas
8. Identify matters which have the potential to impact the Group's interests and provide expert legal advice to protect these interests
9. Provide legal advice in respect of regulatory matters involving ASIC, APRA and the ACCC
10. Support business'pliance with financial services legislation, privacy legislation and legislation regulating the issue and distribution of financial products
What you'll need
11. Extensive experience drafting or litigating a range ofmercial insurance policies including Profin, property and engineering lines - Mandatory
12. Tertiary qualifications in Law - Mandatory
13. Current Practising Certificate - Mandatory
14. Admission as a Solicitor or Barrister in any Australian Court - Mandatory
15. Relevant experience in legal advisory work in relation to insurance, distribution and financial services
16. Experience in financial services, ideally insurance and/or distribution and advice
17. Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge of relevant area of law and practice experience
18. Ability to make effective decisions in a timely manner and to escalate as appropriate
19. Highly developed critical thinking skills, and the ability toplete work in a resourceful, agile andmercial way
20. Demonstrated Lawyer capability aligned to internal Suncorp Legal Capability Framework
