Lead People, Culture, Safety & Compliance for a growing construction‑services business.
NeoWaste is a growing construction‑waste business supporting major residential builders across South‑East Queensland. As we continue to scale, we are strengthening our capability across People & Culture and Safety & Compliance — and we're seeking an experienced professional to take ownership of these functions.
This role is hands‑on, practical and influential. You'll work closely with the General Manager to build a stronger, safer, more accountable and high‑performing team.
About the Role (Commencing Early 2026)
In this part‑time leadership role, you will own and drive all core People, Culture, Safety and Compliance activities.
People & Culture (Primary Accountability)
* Lead people initiatives that strengthen engagement, accountability and performance
* Support leaders with performance, conduct and attendance management
* Ensure KPIs, role expectations and responsibilities are clear and consistently applied
* Support frontline leaders to drive compliance, improve communication and embed positive change
* Personally manage and complete core people processes, including: Recruitment and selection, Onboarding and offboarding, Inductions, WorkCover & return‑to‑work coordination
* Use sound knowledge of Fair Work and Award requirements to guide day‑to‑day people management and ensure all actions are compliant and consistent
Safety & Compliance (Primary Accountability)
* Maintain the WHS framework and ensure compliance remains practical and relevant
* Oversee safety documentation, inductions, licences and audits
* Review incidents, identify trends and drive corrective actions
* Support leaders in building a strong, consistent safety culture
Process, Performance & Business Improvement (Supporting Function)
* Identify gaps impacting people, safety, performance or communication
* Support practical workflow and process improvements across operations and administration
* Partner with the General Manager on business improvement initiatives, using sound commercial understanding to challenge assumptions and support better decision‑making
* Contribute to building an accountable, high‑performance environment
About You
* HR, WHS or related qualifications (preferred)
* Experience in construction, civil, trades, waste, logistics or similar operational settings
* Strong communication, coaching and problem‑solving capability
* Confidence influencing frontline teams and leaders
* A practical, hands‑on approach — comfortable balancing strategic work with HR administration
* Commercial awareness and interest in business performance, improvement and accountability
