The Opportunity
As a GP Anaesthetist, you will provide safe, high-quality anaesthetic and perioperative care across a broad range of surgical specialties, working closely with surgeons, physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to deliver patient‑centred care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide anaesthetic and perioperative services across elective and emergency procedures
* Conduct pre‑anaesthetic assessments and post‑operative reviews
* Deliver safe anaesthetic care with continuous patient monitoring
* Participate in a 24/7 emergency anaesthetic roster
* Support emergency surgery and critical care responses
* Provide procedural expertise including airway management and vascular access
* Participate in Medical Emergency Team (MET) and Code Blue responses
* Supervise anaesthetic trainees and junior staff where appropriate
* Support recovery room and day surgery services
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
* Participate in quality improvement, education, and service development initiatives

Requirements Applicants Must Possess
* Medical qualifications registrable with AHPRA
* Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM)
* Accreditation through the Joint Consultative Committee on Anaesthesia (JCCA)
* Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
* Demonstrated experience in anaesthesia and critical care medicine
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Commitment to patient‑centred care and continuous professional development
Final‑year GP Registrars with suitable anaesthetic training and experience may also be considered.
