The Opportunity
Join Centennial Coal at Airly Mine as a Mine Electrical Superintendent, where you will lead electrical engineering operations and compliance in a dynamic underground mining environment. This is a pivotal role with influence across safety, productivity, and innovation.
Centennial Coal is a major underground coal mining operator in New South Wales and a key supplier to domestic and export energy markets. With a strong focus on operational excellence, safety, and innovation, Centennial employs 1,700+ people across five sites and is part of Asia's largest independent energy group, Banpu Public Company Limited.
About the Role:
As a Mine Electrical Superintendent, you will:
- Report directly to the Engineering Manager
- Lead electrical teams to deliver safe and efficient maintenance and production outcomes.
- Drive compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with site and group engineering teams on strategic initiatives.
- Manage the full lifecycle of all electrical assets on site
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead electrical HSEC compliance through safety initiatives, ensure statutory compliance, and manage risk across all electrical engineering activities.
- Drive reliability and maintenance strategy by collaborating with engineering teams to implement long-term reliability plans and digital monitoring systems.
- Contract and cost oversight, by fulling the role of Principal’s Representative for electrical engineering related contracts, conduct audits, and manage reporting tools for performance and compliance.
- Mentor and develop talent by supporting young engineers through mentoring and qualification pathways and promote consistent engineering practices across sites.
- Support projects and innovation by partnering with OEMs and site teams to enhance safety and productivity through automation and lifecycle asset management.
- Contribute to business planning & provide advice to senior leadership on engineering strategy, budget planning, and performance analysis to meet business targets.
What We're Looking For:
- Advanced Diploma or Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
- NSW Certificate of Competency and Practising Certificate
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience in contract management and project delivery
- Qualifications in risk management, leadership, or project management (desirable)
