ABOUT THE ROLE
As the COO, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of all aspects of mining production, including operations scheduling, mine planning, grade control, processing, haulage, and technical services. You will work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure all activities align with Norton Gold Fields' operational excellence, safety, and environmental standards.
KEY DUTIES
LEADERSHIP & OPERATIONS
* Oversee all mining operations and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
* Deliver physical, operational cost, and capital budgets to maximise operational and project value.
* Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to optimise production plans and adjust to market dynamics.
SAFETY, HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT
* Monitor and ensure statutory compliance across all sites.
* Identify and address non-conformances, initiating corrective actions where needed
PERFORMANCE & RISK MANAGEMENT
* Identify, evaluate, and manage operational risks.
* Drive continuous improvement and financial responsibility through robust cost management processes.
* Meet and exceed operational KPIs by delivering measurable improvements.
BUDGET & FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY
* Monitor and manage costs effectively across all mining activities.
* Ensure contractors deliver maximum value and accountability to the business.
CULTURE & WORKFORCE ENGAGEMENT
* Support mine management teams to achieve production and safety targets.
* Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Ensure clear communication of targets and strategies to the workforce.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Mining.
* Site Senior Executive certificate
* Unrestricted Quarry Manager or First Class Manager (Desirable)
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* 10 to 15 years in a Senior Executive management role
* Proficiency in managing relationships and building networks.
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in relevant mining production.
* Significant technical knowledge of minerals processing and mining
* Successful track record in leading the management of complex minerals processing and mining operations including managing multiple sites simultaneously
* Mining development and production technology.
* Experienced in the generation of technical requirements and specifications.
* Accustomed to operating within project structure with responsibility for project delivery.
* Self-motivated and able to work with limited direct supervision.
* Good understanding of the Mines Safety Act and Regulation;
* Good understanding of all relevant State and Federal legislation relevant to Mining Operations in Western Australia;
* Good understanding of applicable Health and Safety standards and codes of practice;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including liaising with stakeholders and report writing;
* Ability to interact proactively with management and staff at all levels of the organisation in the resolution of issues.
* Above average competency with demonstrated skills in spread sheet and presentation applications, word processing and database applications;
* Competent with use of PRONTO (desirable)
