The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Manager, Facilities to provide a critical role at Loddon Region Prisons.
About the Business Unit
The Loddon Region Prisons includes Loddon Prison and Middleton consisting of a 481 bed medium risk facility and a 236 bed restricted minimum annexe, and Tarrengower Prison, a 72 bed minimum security women's facility located near Maldon.
About the Role
The Manager, Facilities is responsible for the development and implementation of systems and processes, which ensure facilities, assets and other key business resources are in place to support the Loddon Region Prisons service delivery goals.
A strong network of stakeholders both internally and externally to the region will be required by enabling consultation, engagement and commitment from the region's locations, to support initiatives and project implementation. Accordingly, the role is required to provide service support and respond to the business needs in partnership with the General Managers of the Region's Prisons
The Manager, Facilities is part of the Prisons Leadership Team, and will lead a team of maintenance staff who are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, fault rectification, building development and preventative maintenance programs in accordance with relative building codes, plant and equipment specifications, OH&S Act, relevant regulations and compliance codes.
The Manager, Facilities will also be responsible for setting up a spare parts and stock management system to ensure that faults and failures are managed in a timely manner.
Specific duties will include
* In consultation with the General Manager, and other regional stakeholders, develop and implement a Loddon Region Prisons Asset Management Framework and Plan, which ensures that facilities, assets and other key business resources are in place to support the Loddon Region Prisons' service delivery goals.
* Undertake comprehensive research and investigation, and analyse issues including the identification and resolution of emerging assets and resources issues, risks and trends impacting on the successful achievement of key organisational service and quality objectives.
* Lead the implementation of the agreed and pr ioritised program of asset and facilities works for Loddon Region Prisons locations.
* As part of the Asset Management Plan develop and maintain a regional asset register and associated asset management and replacement plan to ensure the regions can adequately prepare for major purchasing requirements.
* Analyse the distribution and usage of key regional resources and make recommendations to the General Manager, Loddon Prison and Middleton and the Prison Services Manager on opportunities to improve efficiencies and utilisation of resources which address the needs of individual programs whilst striving to achieve a single regional prisons approach.
* Manage and lead the Loddon Prison and Middleton maintenance team.
