Join to apply for the Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Mechanic role at City of Newcastle, Australia .
This 4-year fixed-term contract is based within the Civil Construction and Maintenance Service Unit. You will gain exposure to learn an array of practical skills and knowledge across all elements of the Heavy Vehicle Mechanical trade. As an Apprentice, you will work in conjunction with highly experienced Workshop Mechanics and Coordinators, focusing on a variety of activities across the civil works arena to develop operational skills and knowledge. Specifically, you will work closely with team members to provide maintenance and repairs to CN assets, particularly focusing on civil construction work.

What is next?
If you progress to the next stage, you will be required to attend 1 x group assessment centre for a 3-hour period between Tuesday 30 September – Thursday 2 October 2025. If progressing past the assessment centre, you will complete a Pre-employment medical scheduled for Tuesday 7 – Tuesday 14 October 2025.

Remuneration: $37,856.48 + 17.5% annual leave loading, yearly payment + 12% Superannuation per annum for a 38-hour week
