Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Operations Manager based in Hobart, TAS. The Operations Manager will oversee daily operations, manage tour schedules, and liaise with clients, tour guides, and partners to ensure seamless service delivery. Responsibilities will include the coordination of logistics, monitoring performance metrics, improving operational procedures, and maintaining high-quality standards. The role requires an individual to lead a team of 2 office staff and 18 tourguides, manage supplier relationships, and support strategic planning by streamlining processes to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
This role can lead to a position as General Manager for the right applicant and achieving to be determined KPI's.
The job is for someone who can roll up sleeves, work in stressful and demanding situtions and has very strong staff (tour guide) leading qualities.
Qualifications
* Strong operational and organizational skills, with experience in logistics, scheduling, and process improvement
* Experience in team leadership, staff coordination, and effective communication
* Proficiency in customer service and client relationship management
* Knowledge of Tasmania's travel destinations and tourism industry experience is a must
* Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and proactivity in managing challenges
* Multilingual abilities are a plus (such as German)
* Proficiency in digital tools, project management software, and Microsoft Office Suite
