Field Service Technician - Electrical Power GenerationBased out of our Canberra branch you will complete preventative maintenance and basic repair activities on generators and components at customer sites.ResponsibilitiesApplies specialized tools and follows documented procedures to diagnose and complete basic repairs.Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and / or Supervisor.Performs preventive maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.Completes required documentation such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens.Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.Trains electrical apprentices in and out of the branch.Coordinates jobs and responsibilities within the branch and delegates workload.Ensures adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation.Engages with customer in a courteous and professional manner.QualificationsApprentice Trained Power Generation / Electrical Technician (or equivalent).
Diploma / Certificate from relevant technical institution.Current relevant electrical certification / tickets.Basic or Intermediate (preferred) level knowledge of and / or experience with power generation products.High Voltage / Low Voltage Experience preferred.Must be happy to travel and work between the Canberra and Sydney branches and stay in Sydney for a few days at a time while projects are completed.Benefits & Additional Information$5,000 Sign on bonus.Full Time – 38 hours per week.Competitive hourly rate.On call allowance provided.Overtime as required – penalty rates paid for all work above 38 hours.All your safety equipment / PPE and uniforms are provided and laundered.Local valid driver's license is required.Candidate will be expected to be mechanically minded and hands on as some powergen services will involve changing oil and filters.Ideal location of candidate – North Canberra / Goulburn or somewhere half way between Sydney and Canberra.
