About the Position
The Applications Developer contributes to the design, development, implementation and testing of application software, web, multimedia applications and related bridges and feeds to facilitate the achievement of business outcomes and improve business efficiencies and processes throughout the University through the appropriate leverage of technology.
This role involves the full software development lifecycle, including gathering requirements, planning, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and other developers, to create tailored applications that address unique business challenges. Application Developer positions require solid understanding of SCRUM development methodologies and the utilisation of development management tools such as APEX and JIRA as well as understanding and practical knowledge of the systems development life cycle principles.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
* Familiarity with web frameworks, databases, and development tools (e.g., Oracle APEX, .NET, Django, React, SQL).
* Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* May require availability outside of standard working hours, including nights and weekends, to support project delivery timelines.
Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and an NT Working with Children check
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Employee Level 7. The base salary will be in the range of $96,559 - $105,992 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $112,974 - $124,010 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
