About the opportunity
NSW Health Pathology offers a permanent part-time opportunity to join the Immunology and Flow Cytometry Department at the renowned John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle. This role is part of a dynamic, collaborative laboratory environment delivering vital diagnostic services across Northern NSW.
Responsibilities
Perform a range of laboratory investigations and tests related to Immunology (manual and automated).
Carry out technical tasks by applying established methods and procedures, as directed.
Prepare materials and maintain equipment following laboratory processes, procedures and protocols.
Undertake other laboratory duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum qualification of a Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent tertiary qualification with subjects relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operations.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering pathology services within a relevant discipline, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Systems.
Ability to work efficiently and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
Teamwork, autonomy, and customer-focused communication skills.
Problem-solving, analytical, and quality-management skills to identify, develop and implement improvement activities.
