Your day to day role will entail:

* Supporting R&D activities through mechanical engineering design and drafting

* Maintaining engineering management tools and documentation
* Collaborating closely with APS/DSTG engineers, drafters, and technicians

We’re looking for someone who is:

* Proficient in multiple CAD packages (NX highly desirable)
* Skilled in producing detailed manufacturing drawings
* Capable of performing finite element analysis (FEA) and structural analysis
* Comfortable working onsite in a collaborative, research-heavy defence environment
* A strong communicator who can challenge ideas constructively and support the team’s vision

* See designs through from concept to prototype to testing
* Get direct access to workshops, facilities, and technical staff
* Join a supportive team with a focus on long-term growth and skills development

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential in this role. You will be working closely with engineers, draftspeople, technicians, and research teams, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information. Your ability to build trust, engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, and ensure alignment between project goals and deliverables will be key to delivering successful outcomes in this collaborative defence environment.
