Job Title: Grounds Manager
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead our gardens and grounds teams. You will be responsible for the overall maintenance, development, and presentation of our outdoor spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement long-term horticultural plans that meet heritage conservation standards;
* Lead seasonal planting schedules and garden evolution projects;
* Manage water systems, including tanks, pumps, filtration units, and compliance protocols;
* Design and maintain irrigation systems tailored to diverse plant species and microclimates;
* Conduct soil testing and develop fertilisation programs using organic methods;
* Maintain records of plant provenance, garden development, and horticultural practices;
* Oversee external contractors and coordinate trade services as required;
* Monitor and manage pest control programs using sustainable practices;
* Lead garden rejuvenation projects, including formal garden areas, woodland walks, and ornamental features;
* Support the presentation of gardens for events and guest experiences;
* Manage composting and green waste recycling initiatives;
* Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and heritage regulations;
* Provide horticultural guidance and training to junior staff;
* Liaise with management to align garden presentation with brand standards.
Requirements:
* Formal qualifications in Horticulture (essential)
* Experience working with heritage-listed properties and gardens;
* Strong knowledge of plant care, pests, diseases, and sustainable garden practices;
* Familiarity with pool and spa systems;
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to team interactions.
