Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Developer with strong WordPress, Woocommerce and Elementor skills who can combine creative web design with high-quality technical development. You will design, build and launch client websites, train our clients in the basics of updating content on their website, troubleshoot technical issues which entails liaising with clients and their IT teams when needed.
We envisage the role as full-time; however, for a highly experienced developer with an established portfolio and their own business (outside education), we are open to discussing a part-time arrangement of up to three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, maintain and enhance WordPress/Woocommerce websites using Elementor.
* Build and modify custom WordPress themes and plugins.
* Ensure websites are responsive, performant, and secure.
* Work with clients and their IT teams to implement technical changes, including DNS and server configurations.
* Contribute creative input to website design, layout and user experience.
* Manage workloads, prioritise tasks and work independently to meet deadlines.
'Must Have' Skills
* Tertiary qualification in web development, web design, or equivalent demonstrated experience
* Minimum 3+ years working as a Web Developer (PHP, JS & CSS), preferably with WordPress, Elementor and Woocommerce
* Strong experience creating custom themes and plugins
* Excellent written and verbal English
* Strong communication skills, able to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
* Experience with responsive design and development
* Comfortable interacting with clients over phone or video when needed
* Good understanding of servers (cPanel) and DNS
* Ability to work independently and manage dynamic workloads
* Experience working with APIs
* Experience with website performance optimisation
* Experience setting up and managing Google Analytics and GTM
* Experience with AWS
'Nice to Have' Additional Skills
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
* Some experience in Synology servers
* Some experience in SEO and Google Ads
* Some experience in video editing using Adobe Premier
* Some experience in post-production using Adobe After Effects
* Some experience in 360 panoramic tour software
* Some experience in software development (Python)
