Overview
The Office of the Commissioner for Victims of Crime (OCVoC) promotes and safeguards the interests of victims of crime within the Western Australia justice system. It coordinates the Department’s response to victims of crime, including policy and legislative reform, and builds collaborative arrangements within the Justice portfolio, public sector, and broader community.
The vacancies are for two permanent, full‑time roles: Director (Office of the Commissioner for Victims of Crime) – responsible for strategic leadership and advice on Victim Services, and Director (Strategic Projects) – responsible for leading a portfolio of complex policies, projects and the National Redress Scheme.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and independent advice regarding Victim Services to the Commissioner for Victims of Crime.
- Lead and oversee activities of the Victim Engagement Team, the Victim Representatives of the Prisoners Review Board, and the Victim Services Team.
- Develop and implement operational policy and procedure, contribute to legislative reform relevant to Victim Services.
- Lead and manage a portfolio of strategic complex policies and projects, including planning, initiating, developing and evaluating policies, projects and legislation.
- Hold a lead role in the National Redress Scheme.
- Provide policy advice to the Director General and Attorney General on highly sensitive and confidential victims of crime issues.
Eligibility
To be considered for permanent positions in the Western Australian Public Service, applicants must be an Australian citizen or hold permanent resident status in Australia.
