Qualifications
* At least 5 years of relevant experience for ranked positions; less than 5 years considered with exceptional experience.
* Held license or registration as required; must possess appropriate tickets.
* For Deck and Fishing Hands, minimum 1 year of Australian work experience evidenced by sea‐time or log book and verifiable reference letters.
* Seafood Processor: minimum 2 years of seafood processing experience and verifiable references.
Responsibilities
* Manage fishing operations aboard vessel in consultation with company owners.
* Work on deck in heavy seas and cramped spaces; duties may include handling cargo, maintaining safety standards, and supervising crew.
* Seafood Processor duties include unloading fresh seafood from vessels, moving products to chillers and tanks, sorting, dressing, filleting fish, processing shellfish, loading trucks, packing products into cartons, inspecting and grading by size and quality, operating slicing and packaging machines, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations.
Compensation
* Ship's Master – $120,000 or greater (subject to negotiation)
* Ships Engineer (Fishing) – $72,000 to $82,000
* Master Fisher – $75,000 to $82,000
* Ship's Officer – $72,000 to $82,000
* Deck and Fishing Hands – $68,800 to in excess of $78,000
* Seafood Processor – $68,800 to in excess of $78,000 (plus superannuation guarantee)
* All positions include government‐regulated superannuation guarantee.
Employment Conditions
Will travel away from home for several days or weeks with short turnaround periods before returning to sea.
