About the Role
We are currently seeking a Dump Leach Operator to join our Ore Processing team at Telfer. Reporting to the Dump Leach Supervisor, you will play a key role in safely operating and monitoring the Dump Leach Circuits and Tailings Storage Facilities while supporting optimal gold production and recovery.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in safe operations, and works well as part of a close-knit team.
Role Accountabilities
* Operate the Dump Leach Circuits in accordance with operating procedures to optimise production parameters and gold recovery.
* Monitor Tailings Storage Facilities, pipework, and associated infrastructure to ensure structural integrity and environmental compliance.
* Prepare, mix, and dose reagents for the cyanidation process in line with metallurgical requirements and safety standards.
* Inspect and maintain Dump Leach pipework, earthworks, and solution flows to ensure 100% containment of all process solutions.
* Monitor the stacking of leach ore on leach pads and apply required pH control reagents as per operational guidelines.
* Accurately complete operational logs, handover notes, and process documentation to support continuous operations.
* Collaborate closely with Mining and Maintenance teams to support the construction, operation, and maintenance of leach pads, leach plants, and TSFs.
* Identify and report hazards, equipment issues, and environmental risks, taking corrective action where required.
* Promote a safe, environmentally sustainable, and team-focused work environment in line with site values and procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be flexible, resilient, and comfortable working outdoors in a physically demanding environment. You will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, contributing positively to a team-based culture and effective cross-departmental relationships.
Essential Requirements:
* Previous operating experience within a mineral processing or mining environment
* HR (Heavy Rigid) Driver's Licence
* Loader IT Ticket
* Strong safety awareness and willingness to learn on the job
Desirable:
* LF (Forklift) Licence
* Experience with leach circuits, TSFs, or metallurgical processing

Telfer is a long-life gold-copper mine in the Paterson Province of Western Australia's East Pilbara region. The operation includes both open-pit and underground mining and Australia's third-largest gold-copper processing facility.
