Minova is a proven industry leader in providing ground support solutions for the underground mining, tunnelling, civil engineering and construction industries.
Primarily, we provide products and services in underground coal and metal mines in Australia. We make and sell rock bolts and consumables that provide reinforcement to underground openings as well as specialty grouts. Our teams on mine sites install our designed ventilation controls daily as well as provide emergency response to mines when they experience ground control failures.
About the role
Minova, is seeking results-driven Site Coordinators, to manage the operational delivery at key customer sites within the Bowen Basin QLD. These roles are key to ensuring site performance, team leadership, safety compliance, and efficient execution of work.
Most of our customers operate even time, 7on 7off 12-hour rosters (rotating Day/Night), and provide camp accommodation.
Candidates will be required to make their own travel arrangements to/from site at the start and finish of their roster.
Key Responsibilities
You will be the coordinator on site for Minova managing a team of Underground Mineworkers providing underground operational support in the areas of injection chemical application, and longwall recovery.
* Ensure the safe, efficient delivery of planned and unplanned works.
* Maintain clear communication with site teams, mine officials, and customers.
* Ensure Site Supervisors have systems in place to supervise trainees, manage performance reviews, and coordinate training in line with the Skills Matrix.
* Ensure teams are submitting accurate timesheets and managing planned/unplanned leave scheduling.
* Manage the day-to-day delivery of planned and unplanned work
* Attend customer production and planning meetings, escalating operational concerns as needed.
* Ensure pre-shift toolbox talks are documented; ensure thorough and safe handovers between shifts.
* Review and validate daily shift reports including labour, equipment, consumables, and any delays.
* Assist administrators in interpreting and completing shift documentation.
* Monitor asset utilisation, condition, and availability; escalate issues to the National Operations Manager Coal.
* Manage and report on operational costs and identify efficiency or cost-saving opportunities.
What you bring
* Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience as Site Supervisor / Co-ordinator in Underground coal mining;
* Demonstrated Injection Chemical experience
* A proactive approach to safety, ensuring you and your team are seen as the leaders in safety on our customer sites.
* Attention to detail and ability to complete all relevant paperwork with accuracy, including chemical injection reports.
* Commercial acumen, ability to understand financials, and how your work impacts the broader business.
* Experience managing teams and an excellent communicator
* Good IT skills
* Current QLD Coal Mine Workers Health Assessment (CBM)
* Relevant tickets - Hand-held bolter, mounted bolter, man transporter, LHD (desirable)
* Current site inductions for Bowen Basin Mine Sites(desirable)
* Mining Supervisor G1,8,9
