Senior Venue & Events Officer

Salary: Band 6 $99,631 - $108,597 plus 12% Super

Position Type: Full time, 12 Month temporary (maternity leave backfill)

Location: St Kilda Town Hall with flexible working arrangements.

About The Organisation

The City of Port Phillip is an inner‐city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programmes and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About The Role

This role leads and coordinates the bookings of spaces across Councils bookable spaces in the St Kilda Town Hall and Port Melbourne Town Hall, supporting increased utilisation and outcomes in accordance with City of Port Phillip Council Plan and other policies.

This is a fast‐paced role that leads booking management, builds and maintains stakeholder relationships, and contributes to marketing initiatives to increase revenue streams and bookings.

Duties
* Oversee and manage day‐to‐day booking management
* Build and maintain relationships, partnerships, and engagement across Council and the community that support Council Plan outcomes.
* Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement
* Support new business development strategies through marketing and promotional opportunities to increase venue utilisation
Skills and Experience
* Experience in managing multiple large‐scale bookings & events
* Ability to multitask at a high level with attention to detail
* Excellent judgement and decision‐making skills in accordance with policies and procedures
* Extensive knowledge of event industry regulations and requirements
* Degree or relevant experience in event management or business
* Proficiency in various Microsoft Office programs, financial and record management systems
* Experience with Optimo or similar booking software (desirable)
