The City of Fremantle is currently seeking to appoint an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic Parks & Landscapes Officer to join our Parks and Landscapes Service Team. You will be a passionate team player that has a genuine commitment to customer service.
Key responsibilities include:
* Undertake turf maintenance tasks such as mowing, grass edging and brush cutting.
* Undertake general horticultural maintenance tasks such as planting, hedging, formative and clearance pruning.
* Identify weeds, pests and diseases and use appropriate methods of control via mechanical, cultural and chemical control methods.
* Ability to operate machinery relevant for the role such as hand tools, pruning equipment, weed management tools and equipment, etc.
* Routine site clean-up and damage inspections. Collect all litter, debris and hazardous materials and dispose of in an appropriate manner.
To succeed in this position, you will need to possess the following:
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Able to work as part of a team.
* Experience in parks and gardens or a similar environment, including practical experience with horticultural plant and equipment.
* A current WA 'C' class manual driver's licence.
* White card
