Who we are?
At Brick Block and Mortar, we find fulfilment in building and serving for our community. There is nothing better than stepping back from a completed project and taking pride in quality work that will stand the test of time.
What will the role involve?
Are you a skilled bricklayer looking for more than just the same old routine? Do you want a role that offers variety, challenges, and the opportunity to grow your skills? This may be the role for you.
In this role, the bricklaying part will be the same, but the projects will keep things fresh. While the tasks at the core of your job—(helping with setup/pack up, laying bricks/blocks level and plumb ensuring quality, problem solving, keeping things clean, working with other trades when needed, doing demo or straightening walls etc) will always be the same, each day will bring something new depending on the size, scope, and type of structures you're working on.
Here's what you can expect from the role:
* Variety in Projects: One day, you might be building walls and pillars/piers on a residential home, and the next, you could be working on larger commercial structures or even doing repair work. No two projects are the same.
* Diverse Work Environments: Whether it's a residential site or commercial, you'll be adapting to different work environments that each bring their own set of challenges and opportunities.
* Hands-On Work with a Team: While your bricklaying skills will be front and center, you'll be working closely with other trades. Expect a collaborative environment where your input is valued, and problem-solving is key.
* Opportunities for Growth: Each project will be different which will provide you with a chance to expand your skillset an an accelerated rate to normal commercial.
* Consistency in Quality: While the specifics of each job may vary, one thing that will stay the same is your commitment to high-quality craftsmanship. Whether it's the finish of your brickwork or ensuring a solid structure, your attention to detail will always be critical.
* A Dynamic Workday: From prepping sites to laying bricks and dealing with unique construction challenges, no two days will feel exactly the same, and that variety will keep the job engaging.
The role offers a good balance between routine tasks and new challenges, so while you'll always have your essential duties, every project brings something different to keep things interesting.
