The primary purpose of this position is the preparation and assessment of developmental applications and planning studies, along with the provision of practical and analytical planning and/or urban design advice to key stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
* Undertaking site analysis and research in relation to relevant town planning provisions, development opportunities and constraints.
* Preparing fee proposals and initial town planning advice to clients to a high standard.
* Providing advice directly to clients and allied consultants.
* Coordinating and preparing high quality development applications.
* Managing small to large sized development and infrastructure projects.
* Management of projects, maintaining efficiencies, timelines, budgets, and specialist consultants.
* Liaising with clients, allied professional consultants, and assessment officers.
* Managing staff, including delegating tasks and projects, reviewing and certifying work performed.
* Ensuring the assigned scope of work is planned, scheduled, and delivered in alignment with the Project Plan.
* Ensuring work is carried out within the client’s guidelines and in adherence to internal guidelines.
* The ability to win new projects with a business development drive.
* Prioritising, monitoring, and coordinating personal workloads to meet varying deadlines.
About You
* 10+ years recent/relevant experience in Consulting or Local Government environment.
* Up to date knowledge of the required Planning Legislation for the appropriate State/s.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently.
* Proven project and staff management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
* The ability to work as an effective team member and to nurture other staff to achieve specific and set objectives.
