Production Shift Manager (Afternoon Shift)
As Production Shift Manager (Afternoon Shift) you'll lead the shift team to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality production outcomes. You'll coordinate and monitor production to achieve shift targets, improve efficiency, and reduce waste — while building capability across the team through strong, visible leadership.
You'll work closely with your Assistant Shift Supervisor and production team, and partner across Warehouse, Quality, Maintenance and Manufacturing leadership to keep the operation moving smoothly.
Responsibilities
* Leading, coaching, and developing Shift Supervisors and production team
* Driving production performance, including output, efficiency, labour utilisation and waste targets
* Ensuring "on time, in full" and first-time quality production standards
* Championing a strong safety culture and maintaining strict adherence to OHS requirements
* Leading continuous improvement initiatives (LEAN) to reduce waste and improve line efficiency
* Managing employee relations matters, including investigations and performance support
* Overseeing training, onboarding and skills development across the team
Qualifications
You're a genuine people leader — visible on the floor, confident in guiding others, and focused on fostering a shift culture where standards are clear and people feel supported.
* Proven experience in a people leadership role within FMCG / food manufacturing
* 3–5+ years' experience leading teams in a fast-paced production environment
* A strong focus on safety, quality, and operational performance
* Experience with LEAN manufacturing or continuous improvement
* The ability to engage, influence, and build strong relationships at all levels
* Confidence in managing performance, conflict, and change
* A hands‐on, proactive leadership style with a focus on developing others
