About the role:
This isn’t your standard project management role. You’ll be at the centre of complex, cross-functional programs, managing advanced R&D and NPD projects from concept through to execution. You’ll coordinate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers, ensuring deliverables are met with precision and agility.
We’re looking for someone who knows how to operate in technically demanding environments like aviation or defence and brings a strong commercial mindset.
You’ll be responsible for:
o Leading and delivering complex R&D and product development projects
o Applying best-practice project methodologies to deliver on time, in scope, and on budget
o Collaborating closely with engineers, technicians, and customers across disciplines
o Managing risk, timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations
o Ensuring strong governance, documentation, and reporting at all stages
o Driving continuous improvement in project delivery frameworks and team performance
o Keeping a sharp eye on commercial impact, IP considerations, and strategic alignment.
What you bring:
o Proven experience managing tech-heavy or engineering projects — ideally in aviation, defence, energy, or similar
o Deep understanding of product development lifecycles and the R&D environment
o Exceptional project reporting, planning, and stakeholder engagement skills
o Commercial awareness — you understand how to balance innovation with delivery
o Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
o Passion for sustainability and a desire to contribute to clean energy aviation.
